Represent asset values reliably and plan proactively
The AVA modules in BDS Baupaket V5 combine asset management, depreciation, and financial forecasting in a seamless system. Assets and their changes remain traceable throughout the entire lifecycle, while tax, accounting, and cost-accounting requirements can be considered simultaneously.
For construction companies, this means: postings from financial accounting flow directly into asset management, calculated values are available for cost accounting, and equipment profitability can be assessed based on the same data. This reduces duplicate entries, creates transparency, and supports well-informed planning decisions.
Overview of Functions
Manage depreciation flexibly and in compliance with regulations
Up to four depreciation variants can be managed simultaneously and evaluated separately – for example according to tax law, commercial law, IAS or IFRS, US-GAAP, or as imputed depreciation. Country-specific depreciation rules, for instance for Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic, are also taken into account.
- Forecast calculations for future developments
- Calendar year, different fiscal year, and short fiscal year
- Special depreciation and transfer of hidden reserves
- Management of subsidies
- bulk-count assets for detailed inventory management
- Accounting evidence of manufacturing costs
- Various interfaces to external systems
Manage master data clearly and individually
For each asset, a master record with all relevant information is available; the manufacturing costs are recorded separately via the movements. Acquisition date and commissioning date can be distinguished, the screen format can be freely configured for individual data entry, and a simple initial transfer supports the implementation with existing data.
- Up to four simultaneously definable types of depreciation with separate evaluations
- Automatic creation of sub-items for partial additions and partial retirements
- Suggestions for remaining useful life for partial additions
Trace asset movements without gaps
Individual movements can be entered directly – comparable to postings to the asset account. Alternatively, the module automatically takes over the data from the BDS V5 accounting. The different types of movements control and document the course of an asset:
- Additions: Determination of the acquisition value from the sum of the postings
- Partial additions: automatic proposals according to country-specific regulations
- Disposals: Termination of the capitalization period with reorganization in the fiscal year
- Partial disposals: Documentation of disposed parts as separate sub-master records
- Overwrites: Adjustment of depreciation-relevant parameters, for instance for special depreciation or a changed useful life
- Reclassifications: Assignment of asset to a different balance sheet account
- Write-ups: Corrections from previous years, for example following an audit
- Valuations: Revaluation according to IFRS including revaluation reserves and impairments
- Special depreciation: Implementation of country-specific tax advantages
Integrated in Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting
Within the BDS Baupaket V5, the AVA modules directly access the relevant financial and cost data. As a result, asset accounting does not remain an isolated area but becomes part of commercial management.
- Financial Accounting: Assumption and supplementation of postings on asset accounts, as well as splitting across multiple assets if necessary
- Cost Accounting: Transfer of imputed depreciations and interest – by cost center as accruals or final postings
- Equipment Profitability: Comparison of recorded equipment rentals with imputed depreciation for profitability analysis
In this way, the AVA modules create a continuous, legally compliant, and individually adaptable foundation for asset values, depreciations, and financial forecasts.
